I made this baby quilt for a friend who spent most of her pregnancy in India. This is their third child--a girl (though someone assumed the baby was a boy when they saw the quilt. Do you think it looks like a boy quilt?). Thus the 5 elephants--Dad, Mom, 2 brothers and a baby sister. I love how it turned out--except for the sun. Not sure I like the yellow stitching inside. But the other 3 people I polled liked it better. I would leave it out next time--or maybe I'll even take it out.

India Baby Quilt
I made this baby quilt for a friend who spent most of her pregnancy in India. This is their third child--a girl (though someone assumed the baby was a boy when they saw the quilt. Do you think it looks like a boy quilt?). Thus the 5 elephants--Dad, Mom, 2 brothers and a baby sister. I love how it turned out--except for the sun. Not sure I like the yellow stitching inside. But the other 3 people I polled liked it better. I would leave it out next time--or maybe I'll even take it out.
Mousies
Not as cute as it could be 'cause I just used colors I already had. But cute enough. It's from Zoe Mellor's book Knitted Toys. I love her stuff and am almost done with a monkey from the same book.
I stuffed it with yarn scraps and a jingle bell, which jingles very softly--the perfect church toy. It's off to my sister Julie, who is the former owner of many a pet rat and is the current some-time care giver of her first grandchild. Weird.
